HAPPY BIRTHDAYS!!

First we celebrated Steph's Birthday!
She had companions over Friday night
they tried to play Guitar Hero...very funny to watch. Bless there hearts!

Then Mom and Dad took us to Texas Roadhouse for dinner on Saturday night...
Dad thought it would be a good idea...
Everyone else in the city thought so too...
we sat right by the kitchen...there were several HANDSOME servers...
Ashy and I tried really hard to get there attention
we were not successful
It was a very enjoyable night!
Sunday everyone came over to celebrate on Steph's actual bday.
We enjoyed some of our favorite little faces...
how could you not?!?!
Then for my birthday on Monday we did the same...
We had to force some pics...
his response..."I too busy Ashy!"
Then we got him...
(we must be related...Squinty eyes!!)

He is becoming more and more silly...

Thanks for a great Birthday!

I can do hard things!

A friend convinced me to do a Mini Triathlon. It's in Vegas on May 15th. I went swimming for the first time today. I am ready to fully committ to the race. I am going to do it for me, I am going to do it so I can allow myself to be confident and know that I can do hard things.

Racquetaball 101

When playing Racquetball you must follow the rules...
When playing Racquetball you must hit the ball...
When playing Racquetball you must not be intimidated...
When playing Racquetball you must have an opponent...
When playing Racquetball you must hit the ball after one bounce...
When playing Racquetball you must tell Justin that you have meet your goals, so training today is on the court...(then you don't have to do crazy lunges)

Ashy and I have found a new workout at the gym...RACQUETBALL. We love it! We don't know the rules, we allow the ball to bounce more then once. We have been using the gyms racquet's and ball. But someone hit the ball too hard. So we decided to get our own racquet's.
Playing racquetball for me has become a release, I can be as loud as I want, I can scream and yell and only Ashy can hear me. (Sometimes when we are training with Justin, I tend to make loud noises when something is too difficult or I just don't like the exercise we are doing, Justin HATES IT!) Back to the story at hand. So last night I may have missed the ball a couple of times. Of course I am being loud. I am facing the glass, unsuccessfully playing racquetball when a gentlemen walks past our court. My mouth is open, I am in the air and the ball has already hit the glass. OOPS! He gets a huge grin on his face and starts to laugh. Ashy and I start to laugh. We are both unsuccessfully playing now. Misses everywhere. He walks past our court again. Still smiling. The laughing continues, with several others. Ashy and I don't really care at this point, we are just having fun. I asked her if she felt like a caged animal. Her response... YES! We didn't mind what others thought at this point we were just doing something new for a workout. After we were done, we went and filled up our water bottles. The young man who laughed first, came over and told us that he wasn't laughing at us, he was laughing with us. I told him that it was OK if he was laughing at us, we can only imagine how silly we look. He then gave us a few pointers.
Ashy and I would love to share a mad skills with anyone who would like to see them!!!

How I know

Over the last several years February has not been a good month for us. If something is going to go wrong it happens in February. The last couple of years have not affected us directly, however the things that happen to those around us tend to have an impact on our lives in one way or another. Last week Ash and Steph were talking about how we were going to make it this year with out any tragedy. They spoke much too quickly.
Yesterday we found out that a dear friend has Leukemia. I don't remember the exact diagnosis, but it is a chronic Leukemia, so it is slow growing. She will not have to go through chemo, however she will have to take a pill the rest of her life. If you have to be diagnosed with Leukemia this is the one. (not that anyone wants to be diagnosed with Leukemia)
When I first learned of the diagnosis, my first thoughts went to how she has been living her life and the way Heavenly Father has prepared her. Not only her but her family. They are prepared to take this battle on.
My thoughts have turned to the challenges of the world and am so sad that not everyone has the love and support from our Heavenly Father. I can't imagine going through life without it. My testimony may not always be the strongest and I have my moments of doubt. I know that it is Satan trying to work on me. I know that we are here to learn and grow and become better people. To share the light with others. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for us all. It may not always be easy to follow that plan, and it is hard sometimes to always find faith in the plan. But it is the plan for us. I know because I can see His hand in others lives. I know because He make it possible. I know because He loves me for me.

does it mean I'm a good student if....

I am at school before the library opens? I arrived to school this morning a few minutes before seven and had to wait for the library doors to be opened. A fellow student was waiting patiently too. He was walking around the sidewalk measuring how many of his feet it took to go around one square....ok maybe not, he was however walking around in circle just waiting.

And...I almost died being a good student. As I was waiting to cross the street I contemplated crossing without the proper sign saying it was ok to cross. Just after I decided I was just going to be a law abiding citizen an officer appears, heading my direction. The proper sign appeared so I started walking. The officer also had the proper sign...He was making a left turn. He didn't see me until he was like thirty feet away. I was watching him, so I had already stopped to make sure I could make it to the library. He slammed on his breaks. I made it across the street safely....
